Description  Revised the guardian extension (what a player might think of as the 'swarming controller') to be smarter in the way it handles assigning guardians to targets, in particular allowing wounded guardians to flee rather than forcing them back into combat. Also doesn't give assignments to incapacitated guardians and some other sanity checks.
Result  Guardian extension is a bit smarter; 'swarming' areas possibly less likely to just let you chop everybody up without trying to save them.

Description  Rewrote the code that figures out what to call things for targeting purposes so that it only appends "here" (or, not that you would normally know this, prepends "my") if it needs to in order to tell the target apart from something else in the targeter's inventory (or its environment, in the "my" case).
Result  Hopefully, this should eliminate the whole "Hello there, human here!" issue. The cost is that the additional checking against inventories is expensive, and may increase lag or cause eval limit errors. (ESPECIALLY IF PEOPLE ACCUMULATE HUGE NUMBERS OF OBJECTS IN THEIR ENVIRONMENTS OR IMMEDIATE INVENTORIES. It helps everything if you try to avoid doing this. Putting objects in containers is a good way of both making your inventory better-organized and helping it not lag the MUD or cause errors.)
Reason  Tired of listening to people bitch about the 'here' issue, tired of being the only developer who goes in and fixes NPCs so they don't do that in the actually optimal way (this way is not optimal), decided to take the CPU-usage hit in order to make it all stop.

Description  Revised 'show' so that if it parses a show command as multiple things (because it contains the word 'and', contains commas, etc.) and some of those things come up as invalid, it tries again with the whole thing considered as one showable value, and if that works okay, uses it instead.
Result  Hopefully less trouble with using show commands on things that have 'and' in them, like 'whois law and order'.

Description  Took out the code that made basic unarmed attacks vary in activity cost according to your size (and the size of the limb being used) and replaced it with unarmed attacks in general being as fast as using a very small weapon.
Result  Unarmed attacks by very small people are slower, unarmed attacks by large people are faster.
Reason  Couldn't seem to get sane behavior out of the whole concept (for instance, it's nuts for a fomor to be slower attacking someone barehanded than using a dagger), so just ditched it.
