Avaeryn :: Blog :: Ah the idiocy!

February 09, 2008

I am continually amazed at how rude and belligerent people are in this world, and for no good reason.  It never ceases to amaze me that professionals and administrators can behave in such an astounding way.  I can only say that I am shocked, but coming to expect this kind of crap more and more on a regular basis.  It comes as no surprise that this type of behavior only leads in a vicious circle like the "kick the dog, not the garbage can" thing after a frustrating day.  One person bitches at another, the second person gets pissed off, they bitch at someone else, and before long it's turned into the office without broadband on the Comcast commercial.  How the heck do we let ourselves get this way?

Any way! My "free" server has gone down.  So much for moocows and penguins!  I often think it is not meant for me to own or run a mud of my own. Now comes the real challenge--finding a good one to work on!

Keywords: bitchy people, muds

  1. It looks to me like Moocow Pengiun is still up.  I have an account on their free server and though I can't check it because i'm at work they server does appear to be up.

  2. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. If you're back on the market, and feeling up to Smaug-ish building, we could use some new areas, particularily stuff for folks in the level 51-100 range... en masse. *sigh*

  3. I finally emailed them and was told the usermin is down. Just curious why no email was sent out to anyone? That just makes me...grrrrr! I'd love to get QuickMUD running there but have yet to figure out exactly what it is I need to do since it doesn't compile clean. *mutter* Wish I had more (or different) brain cells.

  4. Not sure what to tell you about the email, maybe they had hoped to get it working again before anyone noticed? *shrug*

I haven't played with QuickMUD before, but it doesn't sound nearly as "quick" as Smaug or one of the others that do compile out of the box, so to speak, to me. Laughing
