Paradigm :: Blog :: 100,000 Hits!

September 22, 2007

This morning we surpassed 100,000 hits for the month which is a huge amount for a site only launched 22 days ago.  We have also seen a steady increase in the amount of unique users per day which is now above 100 a day and we have pushed about 5 gigs of data this month.  Continue to invite you friends and players so we can continue the growth on though the next month!  Alot of big changes will be moved over to the live site this week.  That includes updates to the PM system, Hopefully a fix to spell check, and Users Voting and Ranking on all content.  Thank you everyone who has submitted bug reports most of them will be fixed when the update is rolled over in the coming days.

  1. Wow, that is a pretty impressive number! :)

Wait, we're going to be voting/ranking each other's profile content? Hmm. are you sure that's a good idea? :(

  2. The ranking is used to say vote up you comment so that my friends look and see that I liked your comment.  Or to vote up bookmarks (which are coming) to see which ones are displayed on the front page.  Not meant to turn this all into a brawl just to make things more social :)

  4. anyone else having double post problems?

    ParadigmParadigm on Saturday, 22 September 2007, 19:49 MDT # |

  5. Oh, I see.. though even a brawl is a form of social activity.. ;)

Seriously, I just don't know that ranking comments and posts and even bookmarks is really worthwhile, but I suppose if no one uses it then it won't matter and if some folks choose to use it then they do. *shrug*

Um, no, I haven't had a problem with double posts yet, though I noticed that you had that same issue over at TMCnet tonight too, so maybe it's your mouse or browser?

  6. Weird thing is I did a double post on both sites but they were from different computers.

  7. Hmm, then perhaps it's an issue that's shared by both sites... ;D

My first thought would be that perhaps you inadvertantly hit the submit post/add comment button twice, but the reality is that this site doesn't really give you that option. Perhaps it was a ajax glitch?

  8. 100,000 hits is pretty impressive. Especially in one month's time. What system are you using to gather stats with?

I'm a bit skeptical about the content voting. I've never seen a vote system yet where that kind of thing isn't abused or misused somehow, but I suppose we'll see.

And no, I've not had a problem with double posts - yet.

  9. I'm using AWstats and webalizer Awstats seem to be providing better stats so thats what i'm going with.  On a side note we have 1 user who is viewing the page with a PSP which kinda made me laugh :)

  10. I think that'd be Zeno.. *shrug*

  11. Ahh ok, it just kinda shocked me I can't imagine viewing websites such as this on a PSP.

  12. Samson was saying the same thing about his google analytics results for his blog site the other night over IMC, which is what makes me think it's Zeno... and, no, I really can't imagine doing it either, but I suppose it's still nice to know that your site works even on a PSP. Laughing
